CV Advice

When writing your CV it is important to dedicate time to ensuring it presents you in the best possible light. Your CV is the first point of contact with any prospective employers.  It needs to make it through the first screening and convince the person reading it that you are the best candidate for the position.  You need a document that leaves no doubt that you have what it takes to be a success in the role you are applying for.

Please find below a few points to consider when writing your CV:

Include your full name and contact details so recruiters or hiring managers can contact you easily.

Provide full details of your education and professional qualifications including dates, grades and subjects.

List all the software and systems you have had exposure to. Recent and relevant systems experience is very important in today's market.

Highlight any language skills you have as this is increasingly important in today's global market.

Showcase any specialist knowledge you may have acquired across digitalisation or change management practices.

Be concise when detailing your experience but do go into some detail to give context to the employer.

If you were responsible for any specific projects or company milestones detail what these were.

Do not be afraid to sell your skills and experience and highlight your achievements in your career. These achievements will ensure you stand out against other candidates.

Ensure you explain any gaps in employment clearly and do not omit any period of employment for whatever reason.

Be truthful with facts as these will be checked by employers and recruitment consultants alike.
